Tropical Rice With Pineapple Smoothie – Arroz con Piña Panameña

If you are up for a creamy tropical drink that is homemade and healthy, then we recommend you try Tropical Rice with Pineapple Smoothie – Arroz con Piña Panameña. This drink is prepared from the pineapple skin and rice, and it tastes delicious and promises to refresh your senses the moment you take your first sip. And it also smells wonderful!

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium Pineapple
  • 1/2 cup of Rice
  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1/2 Teaspoonful of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Can of Evaporated Milk
  • 1/2 Cup of Sugar

Prep time:  40 min. Total time:  1hour 15 min.  Servings: 4

Directions:

Wash and peel the pineapple. Save the peel for later. Slice the pineapple into 1/2 inch pieces. Choose only 3 slices for the smoothie.

In a pot with 6 cups of water, add the cinnamon sticks, the peel and the rice. Let it cook for half an hour until the rice is soft.

After half an hour, turn off the heat and remove the peel and the cinnamon sticks, so that only the rice mixture and its liquid are left to cool.

Let it cool.

Now add it to the blender with the half teaspoon of vanilla, the half cup of sugar, the can of evaporated milk and the 12 ice cubes. Liquefy.
